Whatever home insurance you choose do check that
it provides and look for things that are covered that are not required.
For example, you may find cheaper travel insurance by excluding risks
already covered by your household content's insurance.
Check that the buildings cover reflects the cost
of rebuilding your home in case of fire or other disaster. Check what
valuables are covered both in and outside the home and that the insured
amounts are adequate. Remember that most policies offer new
for old replacement of items so it is important that you value contents
at the replacement cost.
Remember that although lower insured amounts may
result in lower premiums, if you under insure any claims may be reduced
accordingly.
